El Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is the home stadium since 1947 of the mythic football club Real Madrid. Real Madrid, or Real, has won a record 11 European Cup/UEFA Titles, the trophy the most coveted in Europe.
The club also has the highest revenue in football with 694M$ and is worth an estimated 3.64B$ (2016).
Considered one of the most famous football venues in the world, Santiago Bernabéu can host 81044 supporters.
The tour will take you to the stadium tribune and turf, the museum, the changing room, the press room and the official shop. It took me 1h30mins to do all. Visit the official site for the opening time.
The museum is a journey into history. You will see the original document from King Alfonso XIII dated from 1920, granted the club the name “Real”. Plus the display of the endless trophies won by the club. The experience is superbly orchestrated by the organisation. Lights, sounds, videos will immerse you into one of the world’s most popular football club. Even the most reluctant football fan will be conquered!
IN 2016, over 200 000 people took part in the tour. 60% of them were foreigners.
A new design of a renovation project of the stadium has been proposed in 2014. It could include a retractable roof. The project should cost 400M€ if carried on.
